University of Zurich Law Library, Zurich, Switzerland

The lighting design employs both day and artificial lighting. Given the energy parameters, one of the objectives was to ensure that daylight reached the workstations in the atrium six floors below. To reduce reflexions from outside, special double-glazed window panes were installed for the skylight. Wherever possible, artificial light sources were fully integrated into the building`s architecture: in the skylight, ceilings, balustrades and book shelves.
