Gate 27 is a modern event complex for the church in the centre of the city of Winterthur. The hall and gallery are orientated towards the stage. Diffuse linear lighting and narrow beam downlights accentuate the architecture and symmetry of the space. The freely suspended, vertical linear lighting in the stairwell establishes a connection to all levels. The chapel in the entrance area, which is open 24 hours, is situated in area deprived of daylight. Here is where light, in combination with darkness, comes to the fore and invites one to reflect and enjoy meditative silence.
